The Fort 4 The Fatherless campaign concept emerged in 2009, as God stirred the hearts of numerous Fort Wayne churches to tangibly care for orphaned and at-risk children.

From the beginning, this campaign has belonged to God. He is the one stirring Fort Wayne churches to come close to His Father-heart. He is the one that has uniquely gifted Fort Wayne’s churches to care for orphans. He is the one who calls Himself a “father to the fatherless” in Psalm 68:5, and He tells us that “looking after orphans” is “pure and undefiled religion” in James 1:27.

Early in 2010, Loving Shepherd Ministries felt God challenging them to provide some structure and guidance to the movement that God had begun in Fort Wayne.  A formal plan was outlined and The Fort for the Fatherless campaign began!
